They ascend using a ropes course along the side of the cavern. It is always kept off-camera in the show. Somewhere in the series (I think in the special content about the photographers) they said it only takes an hour or two to get back out.This particular cave is unique for thrill-seekers: one needs to be both an experienced base jumper and rock climber in order to attempt it.

@Yuliette85 , my guessing is that this was compiled especially for the footage, but there's a way you can find out, 1 is to download it from say (isonova . com) but you need Utorrent to download it onto, so goto (Utorrent . com) download the programme for free, install it, then goto (isonova . com) and search for (BBC planet earth caves) & the music will be in the TITLES at the end of the programme, unless its on youtube, or you could search the BBC archives, or search wickipedia for the episode
