Is that what the news in Mexico tells you; I've been to Cuba and the people there do live in poverty but they are the happiest people on earth even more than here in the US. @exodeth Cubans are much happier than Mexicans because Castro tells them to be happy or he'll kill them. The Cuban people have been interviewed several times in Cuba and they all praise Castro. No one ever says they hate Castro on camera in Cuba, so they must love Castro and Cuba.

@DarkLordGreg88 The whole world knows Mexico had a terrible WCQ start under Sven Goran Erikson, but were able to recover under Javier Aguirre. 1st place in the qualifiers doesn't mean anything and there's no trophy for that. The purpose of the WCQ is to qualify as fast as you can and Mexico qualified the same day as the US even though they had a bad start and a change in head coach. We'll see how well the US does limping around in SA.

@black1mic If you think Mexico is lucky to be invited to Copa America, then you're the one that knows nothing of the sport. I don't think you've even watched Copa America except for maybe when the US used to play. Fact is that Mexico is right below Brazil and Argentina in the Copa America. Mexico even has some wins against the two and has consistantly done well in the tournament. FIFA and Elo rankings aren't the end all, but are very good indicators of what teams are at what level.

@DarkLordGreg88 Did you even watch the 05 Confed Cup? Yes Mexico finished 4th in 05 and the US 2nd in 09 but Mexico still had a better performance than the US did. A consistant performance with a 4th place finish is better than an inconsistant, lucky to even make it out of the group stage, 2nd place finish. Mexico fielded their "C" team against Bolivia, Braulio Luna? He's like 40. The US played ES so you can't complain. Mexico will play many more WC prep friendlies including the Netherlands.
